In a boardroom, council chamber or conference hall, every delegate needs to speak and be heard clearly, with the chair in control of the meeting. A conference system gives each seat its own microphone unit, so there is no passing microphones around and no feedback from too many open microphones.
The right system for the room
Wired digital systems: chair and delegate units connected in a chain, reliable and quick to install, for permanent rooms
Wireless systems: no cables across the floor, ideal for heritage buildings, flexible layouts and venues that change set-up for each event
Infrared systems: the signal stays inside the room, for confidential meetings and spaces where radio is not suitable
Hybrid systems: wired and wireless units working together in one system, so a room can grow or change without starting again
Features we design in
Chair control: priority for the chair and speaking modes such as open, request to speak and first in, first out, with a limit on open microphones
Touch screen units: delegate units with a screen for the agenda, the speaker list, voting and language selection
Dual delegate units: two delegates share one unit, each with their own microphone button, voting, channel selection and identification, on systems that support it
Voting and identification: electronic voting and attendance with badge or card identification, for councils, boards and general meetings
Interpretation: simultaneous interpretation with language channels for the delegates and the audience
Camera control: cameras that follow the active speaker, for recording, streaming and video conferencing
Management software: set up the meeting, the seating plan and the delegates, and manage the session from a computer
Audio-Technica ATUC: simple to use, with great sound
Televic: state of the art unit
Original, with local warranty and support
A conference system runs the most important meetings of an organisation, so it has to work every time. Every system we supply is original, through official channels, with local warranty, spare parts and after-sales support from our team in Kampala.
How we work
Site visit and brief: the room, the number of delegates and how meetings run
Design of the system, seating plan and integration
Installation by our trained resellers and integrators, supervised by us
Commissioning and training for the chair, secretariat and technicians
Announcements, speeches, worship, conferences, stage, theatre, drums, saxophone or a podcast: whatever you need to capture, we’ve got you covered. Wired, wireless, USB or IP, every microphone we supply is original, with local warranty and support.
The microphone is where every sound system starts. The wrong microphone, or the right one in the wrong place, means feedback, noise and voices nobody can follow. We choose the microphone for the voice or instrument, the room and the way it will be used, then design it into the system.

Selection and positions of the microphones, processing and wireless frequencies
Installation by our trained resellers and integrators, supervised by us
Wireless microphones give presenters, preachers, teachers and performers the freedom to move. What people remember is not the microphone, it is whether every word came through clearly, with no drop outs, no hiss and no interruptions in the middle of the speech.
That comes down to three things: the right microphone for the application and the room, proper frequency planning, and an original system that is supported locally.
The right microphone for the application and the room
A small meeting room, a church, a lecture theatre and an open air event all need different systems. We look at the size of the room or venue, how many microphones are used at the same time, who uses them and how, and choose the system to match.
Handheld: for speech, worship and live vocals
Bodypack with lapel or headset: hands free, for presenters, preachers, teachers and stage
Wireless gooseneck and boundary: for meeting tables, lecterns and boardrooms without cables
Wireless conference systems: delegate units with no cables across the floor, for meetings and conference halls
Multi-channel systems: with antenna distribution for halls, churches, stadiums and events
Rechargeable systems: charging stations so microphones are always ready and no batteries are wasted
Clear sound, no interruptions
Wireless microphones share the air with TV, phone networks and other radio systems. A system that works in the shop can fail on the day if the frequencies are not planned. We plan the frequencies and antenna positions for every venue, using licence free 2.4 GHz systems for smaller set-ups and UHF systems for larger multi-channel venues, within the frequencies allowed in Uganda. Digital systems add clear sound and more channels in the same space, and networked systems let the technician monitor every microphone, battery and frequency from one screen.
Buy original, with local warranty and support
Copies and grey imports of well known wireless brands are common. They look the same, but they drop out, pick up interference, fail early and have no warranty, spare parts or support. Every system we supply is original, from the manufacturer through official channels, with local warranty and after-sales support from our team in Kampala.

How we work
Site visit and brief: the venue, the number of channels and the users
Frequency planning, antenna positions and system design
Installation by our trained resellers and integrators, supervised by us
We don’t sell amplifiers by the watt. We design a working sound system that delivers the right sound in every area and keeps running for years.
The amplifier is chosen last, not first. We start from the space, the speakers and the sound level and clarity each area needs. Then we match the amplification to the speaker load with the right headroom, plan the zones and the processing, and allow for our climate and local power conditions, so the system runs cool and reliably.
Every design uses products available in Uganda, with local stock and after-sales support.
How we design it
Site survey and brief, from concept drawings to a finished building
Speaker layout and sound level planning for each zone
Amplifier selection, zoning, processing and protection matched to the speakers
Installation by our trained resellers and integrators, supervised by us
Commissioning, tuning and training on site
Every type of amplifier, for every system
Amplifier classes: Class A, B, AB and D, chosen for the sound quality, efficiency and heat each project needs.
Commercial and public address: 100 V line (high impedance) and low impedance amplifiers, mixer amplifiers, and multi-zone amplifiers for paging and background music.
Voice alarm and evacuation: amplifiers for emergency evacuation systems, with monitoring and backup.
Professional audio: power amplifiers for venues, churches, conference halls, stadiums and live sound.
Networked and DSP amplifiers: compact multi-channel amplifiers with built-in DSP, Dante audio networking and a web interface for set-up and monitoring. Examples are the Crown ComTech D Series, power sharing amplifiers in 2, 4 and 8 channel versions, and Crown DriveCore Install amplifiers with Dante.
Residential and hi-fi: AV receivers for home cinema, stereo and integrated amplifiers, streaming amplifiers for multi-room music, and high end hi-fi amplification.
We don’t pick a ceiling speaker from a catalogue. We choose the right speaker for each space and design the layout so everyone hears clearly.
Ceiling speakers give even sound across a room without boxes on the walls. The key is the layout: the spacing depends on the ceiling height, the room and the coverage angle of the speaker. We produce the layout so every seat and every corner hears clearly, at the right level.
A speaker for every application
Background music: offices, hotels, restaurants, shops and hospitals
Speech and paging: clear announcements, meeting rooms, classrooms and voice alarm
Foreground music: loud, full-range music for bars, gyms, retail and venues

Residential and hi-fi: high quality in-ceiling speakers for homes and home cinema
Wireless and smart: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and smart ceiling speakers with no amplifier rack
We have a wide range of sizes, brands and models, in 100 V line and 8 ohm versions. Tell us about your space and we will help you select the right speaker for your application.
How we work
Site survey and brief, from concept drawings to a finished building
Speaker selection and layout for even coverage
Zoning, amplification and control matched to the speakers
Installation by our trained resellers and integrators, supervised by us
We don’t sell speakers by size or by watts. We design sound.
Every project starts with the space and the people in it: how big the room is, what it is made of, where people sit or walk, and whether the system is for speech, music or both. Only then do we choose the speakers, where they go, how they are powered and how the system is controlled. The result is clear, even sound in every seat, not just loud sound near the speakers.
Every design uses products available in Uganda, with local stock and after-sales support.
How we design sound
Site survey and brief, at any stage from concept drawings to a finished building
Coverage and speech clarity planning, with acoustic simulation where the space needs it

Hearing loop and assistive listening systems in Uganda
A hearing loop, also called an induction loop, audio frequency induction loop (AFILS), T-loop or assistive listening system, sends sound straight into hearing aids and cochlear implants. The listener switches their hearing device to the T (telecoil) setting and hears the speaker clearly, without the background noise of the room.
We don’t sell hearing aids. We complement them. A loop system makes a building accessible to people who already use hearing aids, and it is one of the most cost effective ways to do it.
How a hearing loop works
A microphone or the sound system feeds the loop amplifier (loop driver)
The amplifier drives a current through a loop cable laid around or under the listening area
The current creates a magnetic field across the area
The telecoil in the hearing aid picks up the signal and turns it into clear sound for the listener
A loop sign shows people the area is looped, so they know to switch to T
Types of loop systems
Counter loops (one-to-one): reception desks, bank and hospital counters, ticket windows and pharmacies
Portable loops: for meeting tables and places where a fixed loop is not practical
Integrated loops: built into intercoms, help points and self-service machines
Room and large area loops: meeting rooms, conference halls, classrooms, churches and auditoriums, using perimeter or phased array layouts for even coverage
Auracast: assistive listening from the sound system
We now also offer Lithe Audio Bluetooth Auracast ceiling speakers. Auracast is the new Bluetooth broadcast audio standard: the sound system can broadcast audio that compatible hearing aids, earbuds and phones receive directly. It is the latest way to add assistive listening to a space, straight from the speakers.
Where loop systems are needed
Banks, hospitals and clinics, government offices, courts, hotels, schools and universities, churches and mosques, conference centres, theatres, transport and any public counter or meeting space. Many international building standards, such as IEC 60118-4 for loop performance, expect assistive listening in these spaces.
How we work
Site survey: the area, the sound source, metal in the building and background electrical noise
Design of the loop type, layout and driver to meet IEC 60118-4 performance
Installation by our trained resellers and integrators, supervised by us
Testing with a field strength meter, signage and staff training
A public address system carries announcements, background music and paging across a building or site. A voice alarm system goes further: it plays recorded evacuation messages, monitors its own speakers and amplifiers, and links to the fire alarm so people get clear instructions in an emergency.
We design PA and voice alarm systems for schools, hospitals, hotels, offices, shopping malls, airports, factories, churches and stadiums. Each design starts with the zones, the coverage and the speech clarity needed in each area, not with a product list.
What we supply
TOA PA and voice alarm systems, mixer amplifiers, ceiling and horn speakers
Paging microphones, zone control and background music sources
How we work
We visit the site, produce the speaker layout, zoning and cable plan, supply the equipment, supervise the installation and commission the system. Your reseller or integrator does the installation, trained by us.
PRO AV Africa designs and supplies, and our trained resellers and integrators install. Contact us for a design or quotation, or find a reseller.

Keep Private Spaces Truly Private
Speech privacy is often overlooked in the design and construction of meeting rooms, offices, and conference spaces. Conversations can easily travel under doors, through walls, or across ceilings, making confidential discussions audible to unintended listeners.
This lack of acoustic privacy not only compromises sensitive information but also reduces confidence in the security of private meetings. Effective acoustic solutions ensure that conversations remain where they belong—inside the room—protecting confidentiality, enhancing comfort, and creating spaces where people can communicate with confidence.
